Grading - Moderate

As we leave behind the crowds of the Annapurna Circuit, and wander up the Nar Khola, we start to get a sense of what Tilman experienced in the late 1940's and the 1950's.

This area was closed to trekkers until late 2002, so it remains fairly unspoilt. It is still a restricted area, so special permits and additional fees apply.

Grading - Easy to Moderate

These areas, north of Kathmandu are some of the most spectacular places to experience the Tibetan influence and traditional village life within Nepal. Langtang was the first listed National Park within Nepal in 1971, and for very good reason.

Grading - Challenging

This is a trek that you must be well prepared for. It is testing for a the novice in the Himalaya, but the rewards are there for those who are up to the challenge. This is constantly reviewed as one of the most spectacular adventure treks in the Himalaya, and for very good reason.

We have such a very strong connection with this magical region, and our friendly guide Kancha, lives in the area with his wonderful family. The family has a very long history in these areas, and are widely respected. Kancha knows the area; he knows all the well worn trekking routes, and he also has quite a few that are only known to those with "local knowledge". Apart from that, he is always smiling !

Of course we are going back to the Langtang. We have so many friends there, why wouldnt we. They are such great people.

And we are also helping out in some of the villages. We will be checing in on some of the schools we have helped, and also on our health clinic. We are heading there with so much energy, that anything could happen...and probably will. With our small grouop we are going to do it a bit different this time.

If you cant make this trip, dont worry. We will be going back every season, and can work a trip out that is designed just for you.

At Dont Go Gently we think that every trip we do is amazing, but surely one of the best ways to get the most out of a trip to the Himalaya is to get the Buddhist background from a Buddhist Lama guide.

We are going back! This is a fantastic trip, and one of our favourites. It gives us a taste of the Annapurna Circuit, without having to spend the whole time amonst big groups.

A the Nar Phu valley ius a restricted area, we leave the crowds behind; walk up the river gorge, then climb up some steep steps and through the Gate of Phu (yes, there really is a gate). Once inside the Phu valley, everyone will be struck with incredible old buildings that perch precariously on what looks like a huge pile of mud.

We are heading back to the Upper Mustang, which is one of our 3 favourite treks

Trekking to the Kingdom of Mustang is the closest I can imagine to walking on the moon. Your family, friends and colleagues will be amazed at your unique stories of visiting this spectacular area.

This is a wonderful shorter trip for those who are not regular walkers, or are not completely confident on how they will go, but still want to experience magical views of the Himalaya mountains. We reach the Holy lakes of Gosainkunda, where every August up to 10,000 pilgrims (both Buddhist and Hindu) gather for a festival of worship.

We do this trip very slowly, allowing plenty of time for rest stops, chatting to locals and photographs.
